Fresher’s Party at RNB Global University

With the beginning of college life the one event students really look forward to is the Fresher’s Party. Surprisingly it is not only the guests, that is the new faces, but also the hosts that is the seniors who await this event. For each in their own way it is excitement they can’t just curb. For the seniors it is the anxiety to know the new batch, their juniors, whose presence will now give them the pride of being the senior batch, as they eagerly await being addressed as Sir and Ma’am. For the fresher’s this excitement is a fusion of apprehension and fear, of the unknown, of a new world, of entering a phase in life where the umbrella of teachers and class monitors and prefects will not be protecting them, and a new journey for which they have been tamed by being told that, hereafter they would have to fight their battles on their own.

At the RNB Global University, Bikaner, Rajasthan, it wasn’t just that simple. After its inception in May 2015, this was the first batch of juniors of the UG courses and the students of the MBA batch looking forward for a warm welcome. It was quite a mind boggling decision to fathom who would be the host and who would be the guest. The faculty coordinators for the event could only guide, because as per tradition this grand and most awaited event is planned, and conducted entirely by the student’s fraternity. After a lot of thought it was then decided by the students of MBA that they would host the event for the UG courses which spoke volumes about their benevolence and maturity, much more than expected.

The students of MBA planned and implemented in the most methodical manner, leaving no stone unturned in making it as flawless as possible.

The guest of honour The Hon’ble President Lt. Gen. R.K. Karwal, PVSM,AVSM,SM**,VSM was requested to chair the inaugural session.

The events planned included competitions like the Mr. and Ms. Fresher, Mr. and Ms. Personality (1st Runners up) and Mr. and Miss Gorgeous (2nd runner up). Entries were invited and it was indeed overwhelming to see the zeal, which went on to reassure the mentors that it was really going to be like setting the stage ablaze at RNB as we embark on a new venture with the aim of changing life’s , transforming minds, creating pathways to success and nurturing talent.

On the D Day, the guests were received with a lot of warmth as they all came draped in the best of attires and their poise and grace filled the aura with a sense of belongingness, happiness and smiles.

After all were seated the Hon’ble President, addressed the gathering welcoming one and all into the family and wishing them luck as a whole new chapter was about to begin for them.

It was then time for some fun and frolic with a carefully screened cultural program which was fused with the various rounds for choosing the Mr. and Ms. Fresher and the runner ups. For the judges it was nothing less than a battle as they were to grade the participants as per their confidence, attire, walk, answers to thought provoking questions, since all had undoubtedly put their best foot forward.

But then keeping in mind the famous saying “The first step to winning is losing “the winners were decided.

After a grand morning spent immersing into the warmth and grand hospitality of the hosts it was time for felicitations where the winners were crowned and sashes as per the results.

After the thanks giving all proceeded for lunch and interactions, which was never ending as each with his/her own anxiety wanted to know it all, live it all, and experience it all in this one wonderful moment. At this point the hosts and guests had all merged as one and the faculty very magnanimously decided to play host making all feel very welcomed and comfortable.

Adieus, till we meet again were with smiles as all apprehensions and fear were sublimed by the hues of the gentle notes of welcomes and warm embraces of relationships as a new Journey began at RNB.
